Meralco as the electric service utility within its franchise area of Metro Manila and its environs is committed to provide electrification to as many households and businesses possible. However, there exist certain requirements and conditions that the applicants would have to meet with respect to law abidance, safety rules and business policies before the application could proceed
no power for 5 days due to Meralco very weak coordination and no guidelines to their sub cons.very inconsiderate for client w good payment record despite the appeal that we have sick kids in the house.
day 1 Meralco service crew checked problem and declared burnt meter base; pulled out meter and meter base and advised resident to get electrician to fix electric wiring which was done. at.once but Meralco bsns center said it needs checking. Spent 7k labor and materials.
day 2 Meralco bsns center advised to get CEI from city hall for replacement of new meter. this was not advised on day 1 to expedite process.Spent P1350 for CEI alone.
day 3 Meralco Bsns center sent inspector to check what electrician did and advised need to redo by accredited Meralco electrician so another labor fee and materials were spent P2500 plus P1500 just to expedite process
day 4 Meralco approving officer didnt approved what their electrician did and asked us again to revise lay out with addl cost and further delay. They also advise to settle current billing statement despite d fact we never had billing yet
day 5 target to issue meter but took time again.
Overall service execution was poor and unreasonable due to no coordination between several sub cons who do not know basic/proper guidelines, process requirements, timelines and no concern to client despite the appeal that there are sick children in the house and we need to expedite power connection. we ended up goin to hospital and staying in hotel just to secure our sick kids. not to mention we had to skip our works; 3 students who cudnt study at night and frozen food which ended to be given away to friends.
