City Government of General Santos

1939 marked the year when Christian pioneers, led by Gen. Paulino Santos, first set foot on its rich soil. Embraced by the inherent cultural and tribal hospitality of the settlers, the pioneers opened its doorway to a multitudde of Filipinos on every side of the islands. First named, the Municipality of Rajah Buayan in 1948, it was in 1968 when the City Charter was passed by Congress that we finally attained our city-hood. From then on, the people started moving side by side to what General Santos City is now… One of the Philippine’s newest gateway to opportunities.
