Company description
The Philippine postal system has a history spanning over 250 years. The first post office was established in the city of Manila in 1767. It was organized under a new postal district of Spain in 1779, encompassing Manila and the entire Philippine archipelago. In 1783, the postal service was organized in the Philippines-overseas mail from the Philippines was conveyed to Europe by Spanish ships via eastbound routes through Mexico. Later on, the postal district was re-established on December 5, 1837. After a year, Manila became known as a leading center of postal services within Asia. Spain joined the Universal Postal Union in 1875, which was announced in the Philippines two years later.

During the Philippine Revolution, President Emilio Aguinaldo ordered the establishment of a postal
Show more service to provide postal services to Filipinos during that time. On September 5, 1902, it was organized as a bureau under the Department of Trade (currently known as Department of Trade and Industry) by virtue of Act No. 426, which was passed by the Philippine Commission. The Philippines finally joined the Universal Postal Union in January 1, 1922 as a sovereign entity.

The Manila Central Post Office Building, the center of the Philippine postal services and the headquarters of then-Bureau of Posts, was completed in 1926. It was destroyed during World War II (1945) but was rebuilt in 1946, after the war.

The Manila Central Post Office located at LiwasangBonifacio is a neo-classical building designed by two American architects and a Filipino namely: Ralph Doane, Tomas Mapua, and Juan Marcos de Guzman Arellano. The Post Office Building was considered as the grandest building during its time, and is now considered as one of the dominating landmarks in Metro Manila.

With the overhaul of the Philippine bureaucracy in 1987, the Bureau of Post was renamed the Postal Service Office (PSO) by the virtue of Executive Order No. 125 issued by then-President Corazon Aquino on April 13, 1987. It was also that order which placed PSO under the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). On April 2, 1992, by virtue of the Republic Act No.7354 issued by then-President Fidel V. Ramos, PSO became a government owned and controlled corporation named as the Philippine Postal Corporation of more commonly known today as PHLPost.

Mail Service is HORRIBLE
I always wait 2-3 months for important letters from the US government to arrive at my condo complex. I know they reach Manila in 2 weeks and Baguio within another 2, but they just sit, undelivered at the post office for another month or 2. This is ridiculous!!

Lousy-unprotected delivery status
There is a need for you to upgrade your delivery procedures for ORDINARY MAILS SENT FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. I expect to receive an important mail from World education services coming from Canada - a document that cost ********.00 pesos with all the completion of the evaluation. World education services used my office address to send the mail believing that the arrival will be secured based on the address that is within the commercial area of Baguio City which is Crown Legacy hotel. Knowing that the mail came from a known institution from other country, even if so the mail was on its ordinary mailing paid fees, your post man must at least require a signature of the recipient of the mail which came on hand from a third party in a big corporation. Presently, the mail is missing. The postman that was assigned in the area where the hotel is located said that she delivered the mail already but cannot remember when and where and do not have a status report that the mail report was delivered on the date she said she did in that area in the hotel she dropped it off. You must know the importance of mails! The postman even cannot remember in what area she went in the hotel said that she cannot remember any more because it was long time already since the time she said she delivered it from the time I was asking of the status of the mail. I cannot further claim and charge anyone in the place where I work in now because I cannot present a clear evidence that she did deliver the mail to the person whoever was in that time in front of your postman!
We are in the edge of modern technology! You still have a lousy system! We pay our taxes and you need to do something about securing important mails!

Explain why you have to pay 110 pesso and you already have paid postage? What's worse my friend had to go to the post office to track her parcels and collect which the post office didn't even inform. I know of no other country that takes the piss out of its poor people, to dare charge money for doing NOTHING is beyond a joke. I'm sure the people working are lovely people but charging today 500 pesso from a person who does not have money to live a life of luxury is not fair.
If you take money for a service then at least provide one. Angry is a understatement

Do they give official receipts? why charge delivery fee when they don't deliver. they don't update tracking details, they do not even notify the recipient that they have the package. Sabi nasa PMA, sabi ni PMA post office wala sa kanila...haaay

My children has to pay before claiming a package from the baguio post office which I don't understand why, cause I have paid a big sum of money to send it over a week period, but ends up arriving to my children within a month to 2 months and that they have to pay to claim it ..., very disappointing
