A Decision Support System (DSS) is a useful tool for those in the agricultural industry to make informed decisions. It is an interactive software system that gathers and analyses data from a variety of sources, such as farm-deployed sensors, chemical data, crop data, and pathogen data. The DSS then presents this data to the farm manager in order to help him or her make the best possible decision for a given situation, such as disease pressure, frost, or the need to irrigate. While the DSS does not make decisions for the manager, it provides the necessary information to make an informed decision.
