Today, the term is largely associated with a printing firm considered one of the most modern and dependable in Western Visayas. The printing house follows a storied past and a pioneering tradition that dates back to May 1, 1913 when the term Makinaugalingon was appropriated by Don Rosendo Mejica (1873 - 1956) a writer-educator and philanthropist who started publishing the first ever newspaper in the Hiligaynon dialect.
