Municipality of Gloria, Oriental Mindoro

Gloria is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 54,122 people in 10,170 households. The town was previously a barangay called "Maligaya", and was the largest barangay during the administration of President Diosdado Macapagal. Politicians from the place, led by Nicolas Jamilla Sr., a former guerrilla leader, battled for the conversion of Maligaya into a new town.
